How do you choose the correct dog door size?

My dad is thinking about getting a Dog Door for the garage, but we have no idea what the smallest size possible would be. Our current dog is about the size of a husky, but we want to have the option of getting a bigger dog. We are lost as to how big the door has to be for a dog to easily go through.

If you purchase at a pet store, the people there can help you, and you can take your dog with. It is measured by the height and weight of your dog. They come in S, M, L, XL, so it’s really not a highly customized thing.

Just take measurements on the dogs from head to toe and see how big that is and then put it up to the garage and see how big the door will have to be to fit the dog.

Well.. it has to be big enough for the dog to get out, with a more room in case hte dog hits a growth spurt. Sorry, I dont think I helped.

If you dog is big for it’s kind then you should get a X-Large but you might want to measure your dog from the top of the head to the bottom of the foot. But I think that it would use a x large.
