Has anyone used the Banfield Wellness Program or other pet insurance plan?

I am calling around to vets and the price they charge for a neuter is absolutely ridiculous! Up to $240 quoted, which I’m sure means a lot more once all is said and done. Banfield seems to be the cheapest so far, and they’ve been nice and caring for the old kitty.

Anyhow, my question is do you know how long you have to be on the plan to get the benefits? Is it worth the monthly cost? Are you satisfied with the program?

I would not use banfield.

I NEED TO PREFACE THIS BY SAYING THAT I DISAGREE WITH THE PEOPLE SAYING PETSMART IS A GLORIFIED CORPORATE ETC…..
INSIDE PETSMART THEY HAVE http://WWW.KITTYANGELS.ORG. A WONDERFUL ORGANIZATION THAT TAKES IN THE SICKEST OF SICK CATS, STRAYS ETC. THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM FOR FERAL CATS AND THEY ADOPT OUT MANY CATS FOR A NOMINAL FEE SINCE THE CATS ALL COME SPAYED/NEUTERED AND ALL THEIR SHOTS. THEY ALSO SUPPORT THE POLICE K-9 UNTIS WITH ALL THE FOOD FOR THE K-9 POLICE DOGS FOR THE POLICE DEPT. I KNOW THIS FIRST HAND AS I WORK WITH THE POLICE DEPT AND PETSMART IN COORDINATING THIS.
AND THE ADOPTION PROGRAM RUN BY KITTY ANGELS? MY 5 CATS HAVE ALL BEEN ADOPTED FROM THERE.
LOOK UP http://WWW.KITTYANGELS.ORG AND http://www.banfield.net/health/search.asp AND PLEASE, MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND.

I have 5 cats, all indoors and they are ALL on one of the wellness plans at Banfield Vet. It is WONDERFUL!
First the doctor will access your pet and what he/she needs. then the vet will recommend what plan to have for the first year. For instance, I have 1 cat that needed his teeth cleaned badly as his gums were very bloody and raw. I knew I had to have them cleaned because having such bad teeth it can affect the organs and heart of my cat. So he is on the Optimum plan.
For 1 cat, she is much healthier, (9 months old) so I have her on the lowest plan knowing that if ANYTHING arises in her first year on this plan I can upgrade very easily and have the health issue taken care of.
I know if you go to them and chat with the vet and see just what it does offered, The Banfield Vet plans, you will soon see how much you do indeed save. For 1 cat this year I saved over 2000.00 because a serious problem arose and ALL was covered in his plan.
What a worry of my back since I love my cats, I am on a fixed income and needed protection that i could count on for them.
The link below will show you Banfield vets locations. And another advantage is that for all medications there is a %15 perfect discount!!!

I would not use Banfield because they have locations inside Petsmart stores and Petsmart is a glamorized corporation that is no better to the animals than any other major corporations in it for pure money and greed. I worked at Petsmart so I know what I am talking about. BOYCOTT PETSMART.
