can i take my puppy out after her first vacinations as long as i avoid other dogs?

i know i need to not allow contact with other dogs until she gets her second sets of vacinations and that i should avoid other dogs urine with her etc.

I think you should be fine. I have two dogs they are different in age and my puppy did just fine after his vaccines. Just ask you Vet they will reassure you that you do have to be as worried

Anyplace you could take her would be a place where other dogs could have been, and there is no guarantee they weren’t sick. I’d suggest keeping her home until the entire puppy series is complete. The risks heavily outweigh the rewards.

    Good luck!

I would confine her to the yard for now…if you have to walk avoid any area where another dog could have been and try to walk to pavement or concrete. When you get home, wipe down her feet with diluted bleach wipes or antibiotic wet ones….It might seem silly to be so cautious but losing your puppy to parvo is a terrible experience…

when you take her out stay off the grass..and just on the sidewalk.
don’t let her be with other dogs till her imune systems is developed. They say about 6 months..
    have fun!

Yes, but it’s best not to let people pet her, because she has no immunity to anything right now.
Also, don’t let her run around in Pet Stores or Public Parks, because that’s how they pick up diseases…..from other dogs who have already been there and are carriers of disease. Walk her on the sidewalk, until she has all her vaccines.

no… i would keep her away from public areas until the series of shots are complete. Even if she doesn’t physically contact another dog, she can still contract nasty diseases in areas that other dogs have been. I know its SO tempting to take the pup out and show her off, but you should really wait until the 3rd set of shots is complete. It keeps other dogs safe from what your pup could have and eliminates the chance of your pet catching anything funky from any other dog. Only allow dogs you know around your house for now. Why risk it, right?

Like others have pointed out you do not know if and where a sick dog may have been. But you could drive your puppy to a friends house to visit. How about relatives, teach pup to travel comfy in car early. Good for socializing and pup will not always think it is to the vets.

No! Anywhere that you will take it other dogs have already been and could have been sick. Just wait the 2 or so months and take her out when it’s safe to do so!!

i’m in the same boat as you, got a new puppy, 3 days ago, i am being very carful with him as i dont want to lose him, i would think it is ok, but the virus he has been protected against (parvo) isn’t just on daogs, they are immune to it, byt they can still carry it, , so it could evan be in you backyard, you know the saying, better saye than sorry, thats what i am sticking with.
    Hopes this helps.

As long as you carry your pup and don’t put her down on the ground.
She can contact diseases from places where other dogs have been, some conditions can live for up to one year in the soil and on the ground. I personally don’t think it is worth the risk and always wait until 2 weeks after the final vaccination (as recommended by my vet) until taking a new puppy out for its first walk.
It’s fine to let her in your own garden, as long as no other dogs have been in it, but not any public areas.

I wouldn’t put the puppy down on the floor yet but i would recommend carrying her to new places.

This time in your puppies life is very important. Take into account a puppy’s short attention span and expose them to as many fun, positive and educational experiences as possible. The greatest impact on future social behaviour will be made by any experience that happen at this time.

Take your puppy to see new things, new places, new people, new animals (no contact with them). Make the experience a positive one, keep upbeat and dont fuss over a scarred reaction.

Just make sure you carry her.
