Can anyone recommend a company for pet insurance?

I would like to take out some insurance for my dog but am struggling to find a company that customers are truly happy with. I have been reading lots of reviews online but there doesn’t seem to be one that everyone agrees is the best? It appears that there is lots of small print and sudden rises in premiums. The whole thing is like a minefield,i don’t know which one to go with.Hopefully you guys will give me some clues. Thanks in advance.
It wasn’t me that gave the first two Answers the thumbs-down…but i am curious why the endings are the same….

ok, so those first two Answers have now been taken away………….

Yes Marks & Spencer’s & John Lewis – greenbee. Both give really good cover which what you really need is policy that pays out on the same condition annually as some pay out a limit and that it. It will not matter that the condition is not gone or chronic

well I have a cat named slinky mcpinklips. I work in a shelter. I claim to not like dogs (operative word is claim) a few months ago there was this tiny shih tzu/chihuahua mix out there that I fell in love with. The director caught me holding the dog and cooing at her and petting her, as did my daughter who also works there. They looked at me and reminded me that "I didn’t like dogs" so I said she was really not a dog. That became her name- nada dog. the director named her nada. when she was adopted out I met her new people and told them the story of how she got her name. They kept her name as Nada Dog :o )

If a normal healthy dog bites you..?

my dog bite me (playfully) on the back of hand and has two teeth mark holes and slightly bleed, anything to worry about?
The dog is healthy all vacinations etc
Im a new dog inexperienced owner taking precautions!
Its about two years old female golden labrador resued her from local council pound. Deff Needs training.
Thanks everyone for the info
Yes up to dAte on tetanus

If the dog is up to date on all it’s vaccines and the "holes" aren’t deep enough to require stitches (Puncture wounds can be deceiving…), then the worst thing you have to worry about is the bite site getting infected. Keep it clean and use something like Neosporin or another antibiotic cream. If it gets really red, puffy or swollen, then see a doctor.

Where can i get a good health insurance coverage plan for my dog?

my dog is growing old and has arthritis, bad stomach, and various health problems. He is 12 year old and now needs lot of vet treatment. But vet bills will be big and i need to find dog health insurance quotes. Where do i find it from?

Obama’s dog, Bo, is rumored to be working on "Bo Care". It’s a $900 billion piece of legislation and all you have to do to see what’s in it is pass it.
BTW, according to one source "If the entire world eliminated dogs, the total output of greenhouse gases would be reduced by 1.8%." Keep an eye out for environmental extremists…

Things you Should Bring When Bringing your Pet Cat on a Trip

Can’t leave your dear pet cat behind when going on a trip? Bear in mind that there are a lot of things you have to bring if you decide to bring your cat along, and here are some necessary and important items you should remember to bring that will make life easier for you on your journey.

1. Leash, Harness and Identification tags. You will definitely have to let your cat out of its traveling cage for some fresh air, and to ensure that it does not run away while you are going to the restroom or getting some food, put it on its leash, with its tags on. Regardless of its struggles to get free, hold on tight and put the leash on. If it does get away from your grip, make sure that the length of the leash is the farthest it goes. To be safe, leash it before leaving the safety of the vehicle.

His harness must always be locked secure, and his identification tags should not be removed, especially when you let it leave its crate. An ideal leash is extendable and reels up to ten to fifteen feet. These are usually small and light and therefore your cat will have plenty of freedom and yet you are able to control it.

2. Pack its food and water for a quick bite. Therefore, you can always whip up some food for your cat anytime, anywhere. Hard cat food is advisable, and prior to the trip, get your cat to be used to the food, as so to simplify the feeding process while traveling. If you must feed your cat moist food, a can opener, scoop or fork are to be added onto the checklist, so you can still feed your cat its meals.

One important thing you should never forget is fresh water. Anytime your cat is thirsty, you would have a bottle ready for it to quench its thirst. Traveling is tiring for your pet as well, and give it enough water to make sure that it does not dehydrate. Do not neglect your pet, as you wouldn’t want a sick and weak pet when you arrive at your destination.

3. Always put your cat in a carrier or crate. If you’re flying to your destination, check that your carrier is approved by the airline. Also, be very sure that the crate is made out of high impact plastic, or other material, and is very sturdy. The ideal size of crate for your cat should be a crate that allows your cat to stand in it and turn its body around. Too large a crate may not be good as well, unless you plan to travel long distance by car, then it would be more suitable. Make sure there is enough space to have a litter box in it as well, especially if you cannot stop to let your cat out to answer nature’s call.

Insurance for Vip Pets

When most people think a pet is spoiled feel that it is getting to many treats, has too many expensive toys scattered around the ground, or it’s allowed to sleep at night in bed with its humans, normally taking up the entire bed and hogging all the covers. I once even saw a pot bellied pig who was so spoiled that its humans designed an built the miniature porker its very own out house so it wouldn’t get cold answering natures call.

Japanese pet owners take the term very-important-pets to a whole new level. In Japan well loved pets enjoy aromatherapy, acupuncture, trips to the doggie spa where they a lovingly massaged, and in some cases have their very own personal trainers.

It is a well known fact that we tend to spoil our pets because we love them we want them to have the best of everything but recent studies have shown that pampering our pets might actually doing as much harm as good. One recent study from an undisclosed source claims that we are actually making our beloved pets stupid by spoiling them. We are in such a hurry to make their lives easier that we take away their need to problem solve on their own. The less they have to loose their brains the less they can do on their own. This problem is especially common in households were the dog seems to be running the show. What would happen to that pet if it really had to think for itself?

A concern veterinarians have regarding spoiled pets is weight. The more spoiled the pet the more obese it seems to become. The obesity can lead to later health issues that can actually decrease the life of the pet. Weight can affect the skeletal system until hip problems start to develop, obesity can cause respiratory and cardiac problems, the extra pounds of blubber constantly pushing on the joints can start to create stiffness and discomfort.

It is not uncommon for veterinarians to see a lot of the spoiled pet as it enters into the last few years of its life. The problem with older overweight pets is that every time they are brought to the vet clinic they are exposed to more germs, bacteria, and viruses that can lead to still more endless trips to the vet.

For the most part the humans caring for the very-important-pet don’t have to worry about the increasing number of the visits to see a doctor. Most doting parents bought pet health care insurance during the early years of the pet’s life. All of the pet’s health care needs are essentially bought and paid for.      I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if in a few years you didn’t see pet health insurance companies raising the rates of their VIP customers. On solution to the pudgy, somewhat shallow house pet is the appearance of specialist animal slimming clinics. Pet owners can go to these clinics and learn all about their pets nutritional needs and exercise programs that will help the spoiled child start to shed some of those unnecessary pounds.

Being A Responsible Dog Owner

Having a Dog comes with many responsibilities. The key explanation for restrictions imposed on dogs by many countries and states in America is because of irresponsibility of dog owners.

People get dogs for all the wrong reasons which they regretted at the end. Owning a Dog should never become troublesome, which is why it is essential that if you want to own a dog, do it for the correct reason before getting one.

You should not get a dog for:

1. Protection

The wrong understanding for people who have this rationale in owning a dog, is that the dog will automatically be protective for their family which absolutely will not come true. Wrong way of training like keeping the dog away and not socializing them properly with people for trying to make them to be protective could turn the dog to be fearful and wary of strangers. Instead of protecting the dog owner, when face with certain critical situation, this dog would probably run for life.

Worse still some owners, train the dog to be aggressive and bark by tying him in a certain location and training him to have the territorial aggressiveness. This is wanting for lawsuits to come knocking on your door. Thousands of children and people had been hurt all over the world just because some children often found wondering within the territorial supposed to be protected by your dog.

If your intention for getting a dog, is for protection, then a better way is to get those electronic alarm devices that can sound like vicious barking which can be turn on by motion detectors. This would probably much more useful than getting a dog.

2. Children companion

A lot of children often beg their parents for a dog, just for a reason of cuteness or fun to play with. Usually this comes with a promise of taking good care of the dog well being and cleaning up the messes they will create. Well this is definitely a very bad choice to be made. Because the effect of cuteness and fun to play with will be gone after days or weeks, and now the dog will be left with no care.

Typically this job is deliberately shift to the busy mom who does not have the enough time to train the dog and such the dog would acquire bad habits which can not be tolerated by the busy home makers. This is probably why there are so many dogs end up in the shelter and some on the streets. If you are not prepared to train the dog to be a good part of the family, then give stuffed toys to your children instead of getting them a dog.

3. Competing with your neighbor. : )

Out of all the silly things people do, possibly this is one of the worse one. Just because early in the morning one day, your neighbor brought his dog for a jog and shows you how good it is to have a dog and how beautiful his dog is, you get jealous and get one for yourself so that you can show it to your neighbor too.

Although you probably not be the one who do this, there are people out there who did these stupid things. Having a dog is a lifetime devotion and it takes effort to be able to enjoy and have a meaningful relationship with your dog. So pride and competition should not be a factor in getting a dog.

Actually, if you look at it, there is not much different in having the correct reason of wanting a child and wanting a dog. You should purpose to do all you can to make him a contributing member of the community. You should be dedicated to correctly socializing him, teaching him how to behave in any kind of circumstances, loving, providing and caring for your dog.

Responsibility in having a dog starts before getting one, you should start studying on how to best care and provide your dog. Get obedience training manual and learn from those so that you know what to do when you bring the dog home.

Feeding Plan To A Dog’s Diet – The Significance Of One

Similar to the nutritional value of your pet’s food is the feeding schedule. Remember that dogs like humans need to eat on regular basis, delicious and nutrients loaded food and other treats should be closely observed as part of the dog’s diet. Snacks and mealtimes should be given at intervals in a good feeding schedule.

Devise a feeding schedule depending on your dogs age and health, this will enable you provide nutritional requirements that supports the dog’s diet. Mature dogs often eat a single meal during the day, but two meals are a good option.

Older dogs seldom require a feeding schedule variation from any mature dogs, though a dog’s dietary requirements change with time.

Younger dogs require frequent meals in the course of the day. Puppies that are nursing should be allowed to nurse on demand. As you change your puppy’s diet from milk to solid dog food, you could be required to give meals four or five times a day. When the puppy becomes accustomed to the new diet, you can decrease the feeding schedule to three times in the course of the day.

Time consistency should be maintained in administering your dog’s diet throughout the day. Deciding the time is solely your personal responsibility, just ensure that that you stick to that time once established for a successful diet program. Don’t vary feeding times drastically, e.g. if your feeding schedule requires that you feed your dog at 7:00 AM before work and 7:00 PM after work, stick with the schedule the whole week.

It should not be a surprise when your pet becomes antsy at 6:00 AM in expectation of breakfast. Your dog’s diet is essential to him and he is justified for being anxious with anticipation.

Treats too should be incorporated into the dog’s diet as part of the dog’s daily feeding schedule. If you teach your dog to expect a treat each morning after your breakfast, the pet will become accustomed to the ritual and will therefore expect you to live up to your promise.

Feeding schedule is important because it keeps your dogs diet on track. Daily dog feeding routine is easy to establish. An established dog feeding schedule will also make it easy to tell when to implement an elimination schedule. When house training an adult dog or teaching a puppy potty basics, its essential that you learn how to note when the dog needs a break or wants to go out. Sticking to a feeding schedule reinforced by a healthy diet will make the task easy. This could prove useful when you travel with the pet. Once you learn how to identify your dog’s elimination schedule, it then becomes easy to plan proper potty stops. You will also be able to tell whether your pet is feeling stress by the change to the established schedule. Learn to uphold normalcy and custom as much as you possibly can.

Just as the substance that forms your dog’s diet is important, so is the way you present it. A successful dog diet is based on value and schedule. An established eating schedule will teach your dog when to expect meals, hence save you from those begging tricks that land your hand in table craps or cupcakes which could be harm the pets health.
